Ossip Zadkine (1890- 1967) is a sculptor who loves nature and Antiquity.
His work is composed by geometric shapes, simple, influenced by the Cubist movement. He uses different materials like clay, stone, bronze, or wood.
His best-known work is the sculpture “The Destroyed City”. His best-known work is the sculpture “The Destroyed City”. It’s a memorial to honor of the destruction of the center of the Dutch city Rotterdam, by the Germans in 1940.
